ABOUT PERIDOT

Peridot is a rare precious gemstone that can be found either where lava once flowed or in meteorite. Unlike many other gemstones that come in a range of colors, peridot is distinctly green with only a slight range or variance per stone from more yellowish olive green to brighter emerald green depending on the amount of iron it contains. Brighter green peridot gems are often confused with emerald even by professionals. Peridot has been mined and treasured by ancient Egyptians since at least 300 BC
